Well, to date i'm 7-1 in picking either 4 team or 2 team teases. It's been a reasonably easy year to go with the four team tease as you get an extra 13 points to add or deduct from the point spread.
Last week i went with the Texans at home against a vulnerable Titans team and the Steelers on the Road vs the Ravens. While i still can't buy the Steelers as the best team in the AFC, they continue to find a way to win and as 10 point underdogs in a 2 team tease, there was no way not to pick them.
Stay tuned for this weeks picks, which i will post on Friday.

Prediction for fall 2008:
This will be a landslide for the democrats. Obama 59-41 in national election. Dems take back the senate 65-35, house of reps as well.

Stock Market Correction
It's been awhile since i made an entry, but had to get this one down so i could point to it in case i'm right!
Today is May 28, 2008. The DJIA pushed above 12,800 a couple of weeks ago and most recently is down to 12,500 after 3 big down days. Emulating what happened in the housing market (boom and bust) and following the HGX 5 year chart, I think the market will see a short term low of 12,300 but then test the high of 13,000 again before heading into the biggest downturn we've seen in awhile, all the way down to a new low of 9,500. I see about 6-12 months hanging around the lows before the market starts its inexorable climb back up to 15,000 in 2013-2014.
Hang on to your hats!

A new dollar
Following the recession we are currently in, and during the next decade when China, India and EU all grow faster than the US, someone will come up with an intelligent idea: create an economic union between Canada, the US, Central and South America. Similar to the EU, each country would maintain its cultural roots and nationalist tendencies (especially venezuela - good luck bringing them into this), but there would be one monetary currency.
Our current dollar is getting weaker and will continue to do so as we head towards a mediocre superpower. At some point, in order to maintain foreign investment and to naturally increase the value of the dollar, a combining of the economies of south, central and north america makes too much sense to avoid.
By 2025? hopefully.

Renewable Energy
Alot of people are concerned about the future and economic growth of this country. The introduction of computers drove growth in the 80's, the Internet is driving the 90's and the current decade, but what will take over the reins and keep the US on top as China and India try to make a claim as the world's most productive and wealthy nation?
Renewable Energy. From 2009 through 2025, the future of the US will be technological developments in renewable energy. The next president will likely push an agenda that gives serious corporate and residential incentives to reduce carbon use and create new technologies that limit the use of Oil.
Of course, nanotechnology will be a major part of this effort.

The next asset bubble
Well, it took awhile, but the housing bubble finally burst in 2007, a mere seven years after the stock market bubble burst in 2000. What is the next asset bubble. Depends on who you talk to. Precious Metals? Oil? Gold?
Here's my take. As stocks hit the doldrums in 2008, money will be looking for somewhere to sit and get a nice return. In a recessionary era, Gold often is the place to reside. Look for Gold to get up to $1,200 an ounce if not higher. It may even hit $1,500, but by 2012 it'll be back down around $500 an ounce once our new president sets a new agenda to get this country's economy moving.
I see Oil between $75 and $125 for the foreseeable future and other precious metals close to the range they are at now as long as India and China continue their robust growth.
